1.Aomori City Forestry Museum

Japan’s first museum based on the theme of forests and trees. The Renaissance-style wooden architecture, made mostly with Japanese cypress from Aomori, evokes the Meiji era.

2.Hakkoda Blueberry Sightseeing Garden

Visitors can enjoy picking tasty blueberries at a blueberry farm in the suburbs of the city.
(Depending on the season, this activity can be substituted with apple picking or a curling experience.)

3.Hakkoda Mountain Incident Museum

This museum tells the story of the largest accident in Japan’s mountaineering history, which occurred in 1902. Volunteers guided-tours are also available.

4.Seiryuji Temple

This statue of Dainichi Nyorai Buddha is the largest sitting bronze statue in Japan. Viewed from up close, its size awes visitors.
