1.Aomori Prefectural Museum

This museum offers a comprehensive introduction to Aomori’s nature, history and culture. It includes displays of excavated objects from the Jomon period remains, and an exhibition themed on apples.

2.Munakata Shiko Memorial Museum of Art

This museum houses artworks of Aomori’s world-renowned woodblock artist Shiko Munakata, including his masterpiece “Ten Great Disciples of Buddha”.

3.Magatama (religious beads) craft workshop

Visitors can experience making magatama (ancient religious beads), to learn about the workmanship of the Jomon period. Visitors can also wear Jomon period clothing and take pictures.

4.Aomori Museum of Art

This museum exhibits works by artists including Shiko Munakata, Michi Nara and Shuji Terayama. The buildin g’s beautiful modern architecture is also a must-see.
